The galleries below have been compiled to provide a resource to all those with an interest in building science (or pathology). Often I am contacted by people who have found a bit of fungal growth or an insect. Sometimes a water stain appears on a wall, or a split or flight hole is found in an historic timber. All of these have the potential to precipitate various degrees of panic.
Hopefully, it will be possible for concerned parties to find something similar in the photographs below, which can then be used as a starting point for further consideration – or simply to put one’s mind at rest.
